Ricky is a focused, creative and passionate script writer. He has a passion for bridging the gap between reality and fantasy striving to provide a fresh, engaging outlook in his writing.

His first feature film script 'Make It Count' made the shortlist for the Soho House script writing competition 2022.

​

For two lockdown years he has trained online with LA-based writing gurus Corey Mandell & Talton Wingate. 

Ricky has his first feature written with his writing partner Abbie Murphy currently in development.  'Make It Count' an Irish tragedy set in the themes of self-acceptance and Deaf dance.

​

Ricky is also collaborative writer and director of  'Earth to Kurt - A Grunge Opera' a musical look at the final moments of Kurt Cobain's life, which had a sold out 5 star run at the Vaults festival 2023.

Ricky is a co-writer on 'Moulin Scrouge' a festive fantasy play to help Christmas Carol learn the true value of Christmas. Which enjoyed a sold out run at the Playground Theatre Dec 2022.

​

Ricky has devised and written two Edinburgh fringe comedy shows with his double act 'Two Faced Bitchin' & 'Beg, Borrow & Bitch' two hedonistic neon drenched 80s journeys into the lives of two back-stabbing shopping channel hosts. 

​

His short film 'The Dance Exam' depicts the painfully-beige suburban world of syllabus jazz dance. After the film went viral back in 2013 it inspired Ricky to pursue his writing.
