Earth to Kurt

A groundbreaking grunge opera I co-wrote and directed, praised as “gig theatre at its best.” The show follows Kurt through a surreal purgatorial space, guided by The Fates — a live band whose sound evolves from punk to full grunge. But behind the poetry lies a story of courage and constraint: a woman fighting to be taken seriously in a man’s world, balancing class expectations, grief, and ambition. As her music mingles with the birdsong, the performance becomes an act of defiance and hope.
Told with meticulous period detail and a shimmer of magic realism, this is a comment on art’s power to transcend class, gender, and time itself.
