Edinburgh Fringe 2025 – The Wild Birth of Pov’ to Less Pov’

This year I took my very first full-length show Pov’ to Less Pov’ to the Edinburgh Fringe and what a journey it’s been.
When I started writing, I thought I was making a stand-up storytelling hour. By the time I arrived in Edinburgh, it had morphed into something else entirely an immersive stand-up show that blended interactive storytelling, improv, and clowning with theatrical staging and emotional callbacks.
Every night was alive, unpredictable, and collaborative — the audience became part of the show. Some nights we leaned into heartfelt storytelling, others descended into glorious chaos. And yes, Mum made an appearance (in stories and spirit) and declared it “Faaaackin’ amazing.”
Style and Staging
As both writer and performer, I experimented with mixing forms drawing from:
-
Clown – physicality, play, and audience complicity.
-
Stand-up – sharp observational punchlines and storytelling rhythm.
-
Improv – embracing spontaneity and letting the audience shape the show.
The result was something between a theatre piece and a party,
part séance, part disco, part front-room show for your mum.
Reception
Audiences raved about the uniqueness of the experience, with people saying:
“Hilarious, heartfelt, and unlike anything else at the Fringe.”
“The perfect mix of camp and catharsis.”
“Like being in on a delicious secret — part stand-up, part ritual.”
What’s Next
Pov’ to Less Pov’ was my experiment, my leap of faith, and my most personal work yet and I’m just getting started. I’m now developing the show for a longer run and UK tour, keeping the interactive, theatrical elements that made it electric at the Fringe and pushing them even further.
