Ricky Hunt - UK Writer, Director & Actor

Ricky is a London-based writer, director and actor specialising in new genre defying works. Born to working class parents, comedy was always central to his upbringing in the English county of Essex. Ricky strives to use his unique voice to tell poignant, purposeful stories and champions LGBTQI+ voices.

Riding the success of his five star, sold-out adaptation of 'Earth To Kurt - A Grunge Opera' Ricky is about to have his WestEnd directing debut with a production of 'Wayne Wayneson's Rock Hard' and 'Fisherman Jon what's on the end of my rod?' playing at Soho theatre.

Previously having been a professional dancer for a decade travelling around the world, Ricky’s knees started to give out. In a profound power move, he hung up his Irish dance clogs and picked up a pen and started to write and direct comedy scripts.

A natural fit, combining his already hands on approach to creating and the challenges that narrative storytelling provides, he found his groove.

Ricky writes and directs multiple facets of entertainment, pursuing a bright scriptwriting career, with his first feature film in development;
'*Make it Count'
*shortlist for the Soho House script writing competition

Having successfully written and directed four Edinburgh fringe shows (Two Faced Bitchin, Beg Borrow & Bitch, Fisherman Jon - What's on the end of my rod? and Rock hard)

Ricky's current slate includes clown consulting for Garsington Opera on Ariadne Auf Naxos. A run of 'Fisherman jon' at Soho Theatre and a week run of 'Rock Hard' in the WestEnd.

Ricky is also a co-writer and director on an up coming festive production of 'NutCrack' - A naughty twist on the classic Christmas tale of the Nutcracker.
